On November 5, 2012, Groupe Renault® announced the return of Alpine®, the famous sports car brand created by Jean Rédélé, steeped in the history of French motor racing.
The rebirth of the famous "Berlinette" was soon announced, in full respect of Alpine's historic DNA: ingenious frugality, performance and agility. A DNA 100% compatible with the Focal brand!
On March 8, 2013, Alpine announced its return to competition, opting for endurance racing in the LMP2 category, thanks to a partnership with the French Signatech team.
In June 2015, Focal naturally joined forces with the Alpine® brand. Performance, a taste for technology and competition led the two brands to take to the road together.
This collaboration began at the 24 H du Mans, considered one of the world's greatest motor races. The values of competition, technology, motoring pleasure and tradition link our 2 brands for the duration of this legendary race. The branding of the N°36 car and the presence of Focal products in the VIP reception area of the Signatech-Alpine team enable Focal to be associated with this major international event.
At the 2016 edition of the 24 H du Mans, the brand-new Sopra, in a blue finish dedicated to Alpine, was presented, as well as a Maetro Utopia alongside the Alpine Vision. Spirit Professional headphones were also available for listening, connected to the communication radio between the pits and the drivers!
These are now equipped with Focal headphones by Alpine. During a visit to the Focal company in July 2016, they were able to appreciate the Focal sound signature in our product universes: Car Audio, Home Audio, our professional division and our headphones.
WINNING RETURN
With its double European Endurance Champion title in 2013 and 2014, Alpine set out in 2015 to conquer the world! For the 2015-2016 season, still associated with the Signatech stable, Alpine turned to new challenges. It took part in 8 World Endurance Championship events across the globe. Its team of drivers continued the momentum, with the #36 Focal-stickered Alpine A460 racer, with a class win at the 2016 24 H du Mans.
ALPINE, A LEGENDARY SIGNATURE OF FRENCH MOTORSPORT
Alpine took part in the 24 Hours of Le Mans eleven times between 1963 and 1978, with 55 factory cars. The brand won everything: the Energy Index in 1964, 1965 and 1968, the Performance Index in 1968 and 1969, seven class wins and, above all, victory in the Absolute Overall Classification in 1978 with the Alpine A442B prototype driven by Jean-Pierre Jaussaud and Didier Pironi. This success was rounded off by 4th place for the Jean Ragnotti / Guy Fréquelin crew in another Alpine A442. In 2013 and 2014, Alpine won the European Endurance Championship. In 2016, it's still leading the field!
